Wellll, it's the 4th of July.

Technically, it is now the 5th, but since things don't get crankin' at Chateau Hamm until after midnight, we'll say it's the 4th.

While admiring Portland's fireworks display from my aunt's porch this evening, my wife and I overheard the TV playing "Hit The Road, Jack" over a televised fireworks display. My wife (recently of Sweden) asked whether this might refer to the Union Jack. Maybe so. That song seemed a blunt choice, though, and prompted me to wonderCollapse )
