Another pre-release review of Good As Lily cropped up today, this time in the Chicago Sun-Times.
That particular newspaper holds a special place in my heart, since that was the venue in which my late grandfather discovered The Spirit comic strip during his art school days, back in the 'Forties. He clipped and saved several of those wonderfully innovative strips, and half a century later, when I was in my teens, he passed those clippings on to me. So, it was with some pride that I saw my cartooning mentioned this morning in the online version of that very paper. (Which isn't to deny that, had they panned the book, I'd have heaped piles of abuse on their heads like dirt on a campfire.)
And now, a sample from the sketchbook I'll debut at the upcoming San Diego Comicon:
If you're gonna be at Comicon and want to say hi, please look for me in Artist Alley, at table II-06. (That's in the blue section at the upper left of this pdf map.) And, as usual, if you wish to discuss Battlestar, Buffy, or Harry Potter with me, please look for me in the white section of that self-same map. I'll be waiting!
